Since this is our first newsletter, we would first like to start by saying thank you to the hundreds of wonderful patients that have allowed us to care for them over the last two and a half years at Reflections Med Spas. It is hard to believe how quickly the time has passed. It has truly been an honor working with you and we appreciate, and take very seriously the trust you have put in our hands. We look forward to seeing you at your next appointment. If you have never been a patient of ours ... well, we hope that you will some day come in, check us out, and see what we have to offer. Discover for yourself what sets us apart. We hope you will find this newsletter informative and helpful.

We are having a patient appreciation party on September 20th from 5:30 to 8:30 and would like to invite you. The location will be in the parking lot of our building, the conference room and our office. This is a catered event with wine, beer and other various sparkling drinks and hors d' oeuvres. For your entertainment and enjoyment there will be a band as well. We have asked the representative from Allergan Company featuring Botox® and Juvederm® as well as reps from Obagi®, Radiesse®, and Cutera® and Jane Iredale® to be available to answer your aesthetic questions. 

Also, we are giving away free Botox and Lipodissolve treatments and are planning on performing LIVE Botox and Lipodissolve treatments at the party at 6:00pm, 6:30pm, 7:00pm and 7:30pm. We are offering steep discounts on products and services that are purchased during the party. We expect a great turnout and hope to see you there. This party is for adults only.

Sun Damage And What You Can Do About It:

There is no question about it. Being outside and enjoying the sunshine is fantastic and feels great. Our skin is constantly exposed to the sun’s rays, which partially are beneficial. However, the UVB rays that make us tan create freckles and sun spots that can linger. The process is called photo aging. Have you ever looked at someone’s face and it looked pretty good, and then looked at their hands with the multitude of brown spots and then readjusted your estimated age for that person? Liver spots, sun spots, sun damage, poikiloderma, solar lentigines, actinic bronzing are all forms of the skin’s reaction to protecting itself from sunlight. We haven’t even mentioned the DNA damaging UVA rays that cause cancer which are also very important to protect against. 

What Should You Do About It?

  1. Get a skin check-up from your primary care physician once a year to be evaluated for skin cancers.

  2. Protect yourself by wearing sunscreen. EVERY DAY. There is no better way to alleviate and block the effects of the sun. We suggest a Cosmeceutical strength sunscreen. Make-up with ''SPF'' is not enough. 

  3. Get a complementary complexion analysis to learn about the latest technologies to reverse sun damage and improve your appearance

Fall and winter are great times to work on clearing up brown spots from sun damage.
