Endovenous Laser Ablation is a nonsurgical approach to removing painful varicose veins. ELAS is an FDA approved procedure that is performed in our relaxing office setting and is a quick outpatient procedure. With the help of the Dornier® Laser System, our Board Certified Surgeons insert a catheter into the effected vein, through which they insert a laser fiber that heats the inside of the vein causing it to collapse and be removed from the main vascular system. This system can quickly and effectively eliminate varicose veins, sometimes in a single treatment. This new ultrasound-guided technique has virtually replaced vein stripping treating even large rope-like varicose veins.
ENDOVENOUS LASER TREATMENTS TREAT THE FOLLOWING CONDITIONS:
Varicose veins
Reticular veins
Spider veins
Venous reflux
Venous hypertension
Venous stasis

How long does it take?
The entire procedure is usually complete within one hour.
Are there going to be scars?
Minimal scaring, usually barely noticible, is created with this procedure.
How many treatments do I need?
ELAS requires only one treatment to remove the varicose veins. Proper care of your legs and body will help to prevent varicose veins from forming in the future.
Will I be able to walk?
This is a safe and effective treatment that allows you to go back to your everyday activities after leaving the procedure. Care and instructions are provided at the time of the procedure by our Board Certified Surgeons.
When can I go back to everyday activities?
You can usually resume your normal activities immediately, with the exception of vigorous exercise. There is no downtime for daily activities and discomfort is minimal.
Where do you put the laser?
Using ultrasound guidance, surgeons target specific blood vessels through the skin with a very safe, FDA approved laser. Our surgeons know precisely where to place the laser to cause your veins to disappear.
Does it hurt?
Because this is a minimally invasive procedure performed under local anesthetics in the office, discomfort is minimal.
